The ‘Ranch Minimal Traditional’ style is similar to the ‘Minimal Traditional’ style in many aspects. Like the Minimal Traditional, the Ranch Minimal traditional is typically rectangular in plan, usually with a side gabled roof. Construction materials can vary. One of the most key components is very little architectural or decorative detail.
Identifying Features:
- Simple, linear plan typically no wings; occasionally have “L” plan
- Typically side-gabled roofs
- Weatherboard, asbestos shingle, wood shingle common
- Facades sometimes veneered in brick or stone
- Set close together on small lots
- Sometimes feature an attach car port
- Generally feature a large picture window
